Jason Brown

If you’ve ever reached out to QPOD with a technical question (and trust us, we love those), you’ve likely spoken with Jason Brown.

Jason is the man when it comes to QPOD’s Technical Assistance and Customer Support, he’s always eager to dive in and help. We sat down with Jason to find out what drives him, get a little glimpse into his role, and learn what excites him—both at work and on the weekends (spoiler alert : he loves a little fun on two wheels!!)

Firstly, can you give us an idea of what you’re role involves here at QPOD?

“I handle the technical side of things here at QPOD and deal with all manner of questions from our customers which also inevitably flows over into some sales, and customer service work. If you’ve got a question about how to install the pods, handle pipe penetrations, or place steel, I’m your guy! I even teach customers how to do the steel dance—a little trick to get the steel just right.”

What initially attracted you to QPOD and what excites you most about your role?

“I was looking for a role with growth potential, and QPOD caught my eye. I loved the ethos of the company, especially around recycling and sustainability. The potential I saw in the product was exciting too!

You know, it’s rare to find a job where you’re genuinely excited to go to work. Every day brings something new. It’s rewarding when you can help a customer solve a tricky problem, whether it’s about installation or steel placement.”

What do you do outside of work?

“I’m big on getting out into nature—whether it’s bush walks or flying down the road on my motorbike. I hit the gym, practice yoga, and occasionally enjoy a craft beer. Lately, I’ve been into IPAs.”

And have you always lived in Hawke’s Bay?

“Nope! I’m a bit of a gypsy. I was born and raised in Auckland, I’ve lived in Canada, Great Barrier Island, and the Far North. But now, Hawke’s Bay is home. I love it’s amazing scenery and the way of life we have here.

Awesome thanks Jason. Lastly, just back to QPOD, what’s one thing you wish people knew about QPOD?

“Everything! We’re still a small segment of the market, but the solution we have on offer is incredible and not everyone knows the QPOD name yet. There’s so much potential, and we’re really doing things differently and right. A winning combo in my eyes.”
