At 300mm high, QPOD300 meets the needs of modern engineered raft foundations, delivering robust structural performance with a focus on efficiency and sustainability.

The QPOD300™ Foundation System is engineered to provide a higher, stronger, and more flexible raft foundation solution while maintaining our commitment to sustainability. Designed for slab-on-grade and raft-style floor configurations, the QPOD300 builds on the proven success of the standard QPOD system with a 300mm height to support higher slab requirements be it to obtain a higher finished floor level (FFL) or for flood-prone areas.

The QPOD300 configuration offers an above-ground foundation system that delivers significant advantages over conventional concrete floors. The open-ended pod design enhances concrete flow and structural integrity, while a grillage of beams within the slab ensures greater stiffness and strength compared to a traditional 100mm concrete slab on grade.

With the ability to achieve heights of 410mm or higher with Specific Engineering Design (SED) and 385mm as per standard detailing, the QPOD300 allows for flexible design solutions within CodeMark compliance. This system eliminates the need for deepened perimeter footings due to its inherent strength and offers an improved R-Value thanks to encapsulated air pockets, ensuring superior thermal performance.

The Central Locking System

 

The QPOD300 is built around a single critical detail: the central locking connector.

Four closed-sided pods lock together at the centre, forming a seamless structural grid with consistent rib spacing at 1,100mm centres — the same geometry as a traditional polystyrene pod, but with a system that stays exactly where you put it through the entire concrete pour.

The stability is what makes the QPOD300 predictable to engineer and reliable to build with — whether you’re working across 50m² or 2,000m².

The locked grid creates a continuous grillage of beams within the slab, delivering greater stiffness and strength than a conventional 100mm slab on grade, without the need for deepened perimeter footings.
