Foundations made easy

Plumbing Penetrations with QPOD Continuous

In the world of plumbing, foundations, and construction, pipes and plumbing penetrations don’t usually steal the spotlight.

But today, we’re changing that. Meet El Pipe-o—a seasoned pro with years in the trenches (literally). We caught up with him to get the lowdown on why he’s head over heels for the QPOD Continuous system.

El Pipe-o and his crew have been through it all—tight squeezes in polystyrene slabs, sleeving nightmares, and reinforcement zones tougher than an overcooked snag at a BBQ.

But now?

He’s living the dream with QPOD Continuous, where the wide-open voids give him room to breathe, flow, and work with ease.

Let’s sit down with El Pipe-o and find out why he’s never looking back (which is great news when you’re a pipe).

El Pipe-o in his element. A pretty chilled fella.

El Pipe-o, tell us a bit about yourself…

QPOD: Thanks for sitting down with us today, El Pipe-o, you look like a pretty chilled out fella. Can you tell us a bit about QPOD Continuous?

El Pipe-o: It’s a game-changer, honestly. I’ve been through some pretty dark patches in my life. I used to squeeze into tiny channels in polystyrene systems, dodging foam blocks. It was like threading a needle. But with QPOD Continuous I’ve got wide, open voids to run through. When it comes to the world of pipes and plumbing it’s like Hollywood my friend, Hollywood.

The big difference

QPOD: So when it comes to pipes and plumbing penetrations what makes QPOD Continuous so much better for laying plumbing?

El Pipe-o: The void space, hands down.

QPOD: But you have no hands. You’re a pipe.

El Pipe-o: Listen here mate, quit with the jibes. The facts are simple mate, with QPOD I can settle into large clear spaces, there’s no foam cutouts to navigate, no trenches to worry about. I can be placed exactly where I’m needed.

The bottom line is I’ve got a free run.

It’s so much smoother compared to say a poly system, where every inch of space is pre-planned, and you’re locked into place. If you need to make adjustments with polystyrene, as a pipe you might be waiting a while to be laid, and when you do it might be a bit messy.

El Pipe-o spotted running free with QPOD Continuous. He’s packed on a few kegs compared to your average pipe, but just look at that wind whistling through his non-existent hair. Freedom!

How about the pour El Pipe-o?

El Pipe-o: Mate, I’m starting to think this sounds like a shameless plug for QPOD.

QPOD: No disrespect, but let’s not forget that time you…

El Pipe-o: Yeah, yeah, I get it. Another big win for QPOD. In traditional systems, I’d be wrapped in sleeves or barriers to stop concrete from flowing over me—stressful, to say the least. But with QPOD, I’m chilling in my void while the concrete flows around me, no encroachment. No protection needed—I’m safe and sound.

QPOD: Safe until the IRD comes knocking.

El Pipe-o: Zip it!

El Pipe-o we see you!

Any other advantages?

QPOD: When it comes to plumbing and pipe advantages is there anything else you can think of with QPOD Continuous?

El Pipe-o: Am I still on the payroll?

QPOD: Yip.

El Pipe-o: Good. Definitely. It’s faster, it’s simpler, and it’s more flexible. I’ve been on sites where the reinforcement in polystyrene slabs made it almost impossible to lay me down properly. QPOD Continuous doesn’t have that issue. Even under load-bearing walls, where the reinforcement is critical, there’s still enough space for me to get through without hassle. It’s like you guys have thought of everything.

Closing thoughts

QPOD: It sounds like QPOD Continuous makes your life a lot easier. What would you say to someone considering switching to this system?

El Pipe-o If you want a smoother, faster installation with less headache, QPOD Continuous is the way to go. It’s not just about making life with me easier (coz boy don’t you know I can be tricky)—it’s about getting the project done faster and more efficiently.

Less time wasted, fewer complications, and ultimately, a better result for everyone involved.

QPOD: Well thanks for your time today El Pipe-o.
